Well hello! I have been pretty busy trying to get the studio ready for the CIA tour next weekend, only 7 more days. OMG! I installed the laminate floor by myself, as well as the hearth tile. My husband and I worked together to put the ledgestone on the wall in behind where the woodstove will be installed. We are working on the trim and all those finishing touches that seem to take forever, like picking those stickers off the new windows. Why do they put these on? Why not those nice vinyl stickers that peel with no residue? Good thing I have a plethora of art supplies. Mineral spirits did the job. The plumber is coming hopefully on Wednesday so we should be able to have the last building inspection on Thursday, which leaves Friday to move in, just in time to welcome visitors on Saturday and Sunday. Sheesh
When the tour is over, the painting work begins. I have a show in Sidney at the Village Gallery in July and I do not have the work for the show I should have. I attempted to move into the studio temporarily to get some work done, but just couldn't concentrate with half my supplies in the basement and the other half in the building. Too many things demanding my attention these past days. I don't think anyone will see much of me in June. I have warned my family.
Hopefully some of you are able to come out for the Central Island Artisan Spring studio Tour. The tour is loaded with talented artists from Nanaimo to Courtenay. For artists information, maps and listings go to: http://www.centralislandartisans.com/
